Dallas - 3 Birds 1 Stone

So this weekend we planned  trip to see our sweet friends The Clem family in Dallas and aunt KK who lives in Palo Pinto. We planned to go to the Dallas World Aquarium so our boys could check out the fish together and it’s easiest to keep them chill with lots of distractions. Or at least that’s my plan for Hudson. Gotta keep that boy entertained. They had such a blast!

Hudson and Noah are like two pals who even after not seeing each other for awhile pick up like old friends. So very sweet. Holding each other’s hands, sitting next each other and making discoveries together. My favorite part was when they boys were watching the otters together. The otters loved the boys. They kept swimming up to them and the boys were just engulfed in the amazing creatures. Another favorite part was the shark tunnel. So very cool for everyone.

How was the Aquarium overall? Pretty awesome. Perfect size for those who don’t have an entire day to go through an attraction. Perfect for our boys. They also had beautiful birds, monkeys, crocodiles, turtle, penguins and more. They even had a bird you could feed blueberries. Hudson missed the memo on that because as soon as we handed him the blueberry he ate it. Found out he has a love for blueberries so that worked out lol.

I just love the Clem family. Best friends I’ve made in a long time. Miss this so much. Afterwards we went to a restaurant called Bread Winners. YUM! They have bread out at the table and it’s not like normal bread. It’s awesome bread with nuts or cranberries or all kinds of good stuff. Needless to say I would be the size of a house if I ate there often. Definitely will be a Dallas visit favorite. Noah was sooo good sitting and eating his food in the high chair. I had to chase Hudson around because sitting is not an option (lol). We finally learned to push our chairs together to make a Hudson trap and it worked for a little bit. One day…..he’ll like restaurants haha. It wasn’t too bad. We just walked outside and even sat in Hudson’s first bar. LOL! As we said fairwell to our super sweet friends we headed to aunt KK’s house.

On our way there I saw a red barn. Thought it looked familiar and knew I was close to KK’s house haha. Not sure how I remembered the red barn but I did. KK lives on a Lake and it’s beautiful. We had some yummy pork that Hudson loved too. They kept saying, “It’s going to be hot, might not want to give it to Hudson” and of course he ate it. Boy loves flavor. Then the next morning KK made us an awesome breakfast with blueberries and waffles. Hudson devoured the blueberries. KK’s house is so peaceful. The hammock was calling my name but the boss, Hudson, wouldn’t let me haha. Maybe next year.

On our way home we stopped by Uncle Robert's house for a brief hour because of the heat. Dada almost caught a huge catfish and we met the cows.

A great weekend with friends and family is the best you can have. :)

Talking Hearts

Every morning when we snuggle. Every morning when you drink your milk. Every time you get hurt and need momma's comforting. Every time you get sad. Every time you get sleepy. Every time you are being sweet and cuddly. Every time you go to sleep. You climb in my arms, our hearts touch and they speak a language only the two of us understand.

Love, Forever your lucky momma.

Turtle In The Water New Words

Dada went fishing this weekend to Poco Bueno. Can't wait to take bubba when he's old enough but this weekend we hung back. We had a lot of fun :) even though we missed dada.

Friday we went to nana and pops' house. Rode around in a wheel barrel, had Chick Fil A and enjoyed a fun night. As it always is :). Even took Daisy for a spin.

Saturday bubba and I went to the pool. I determined to teach him to swim because he will not wear any type of floatation device. Scary? Yes. Do I take my eyes off of him? Never. So, this time I taught bubba to move his arms like he was swimming. We usually tell him to kick his feet and he does but I never thought to tell him to move his arms. We practiced that several times. We also would count to three and dunk our heads under the water. My son is a nut (not a secret) but he loves to put his face in the water (ayayayay). He tested my discipline also but almost jumping into the deep end without mommy there to catch but definitely had to teach him that was a "no no" and now he says "no no no no." LOL!

Bubba also started saying "whoa whoa" when he comes close to falling. I never realized how much I say whoa when he's about to fall but my copy cat has picked that up. Love it.

Mawmaw came over Saturday night. While we were at dinner mawmaw suggested going to a movie. I was immediately hesitant because Hudson doesn't sit still for anything and really won't do it if you try to make him. With dada's approval, we decided to try it out knowing we would be ready to walk out at any sign of a breakdown. As soon as we stepped foot in front of the big screen he was in awe. He didn't take his eyes off of it the entire time. Held the popcorn in his lap. Reach in to get a bite throughout the whole movie. He was perfect. At first I couldn't take my eyes off of him because I was sooo surprised he was mesmerized. I always knew I'd have a great movie buddy one day. :)

Today we took bubba back to the Austin Zoo. I'm so glad it's so close to us and it's just such a fun sweet zoo. Bubba learned how to say turtle. This boy seriously amazes me every day. He told me that there was a "turtle" in the "water" and that there was "another" one.

Bubba, momma is forever stunned. I love you so much. You are my best friend!

18 Month Old Bruiser

Nope, that's not a headband you see. It's a permanent bruise station on his forehead. Hudson is so rambunctious! He's constantly falling from jumping, running and being a nut and gets so many bruises! His Dr at his 18 month check up said she wouldn't be surprised if he had to get stitches before 3 years old!!! Even she can tell from a short visit that he's a wild one. And boy are we lucky! He is awesome and so much fun to watch. I'm not scared anymore because I know there's nothing I can do to keep it from happening. We have joked about a helmet but let me get to stitches and we will see if I hit go on that plan.

This month went by so fast! I can't even believe he's already a year and a half. Wow. The time is flying as fast as he runs.

New things this month. Lots of new words for what he wants. Hudson is not only good at giving direction but awesome at taking it. You can ask him to do a lot of things and he somehow understands you. He amazes me. I love it. He helps mommy put toys up, put clothes in the dryer, take things to someone, etc. Such a huge helper. We swear we hear Hudson say things that aren't 100% clear. For example, I swear I've heard him say, "I want water". He's got water down really good. He's also started to tell me when he poops. No longer just dragging me to the stairs to change his diaper. Now he says. Poo poo. This is probably tmi but Hudson likes to hear mommy potty. We do everything together. So. I tell him to listen. He hears a tinkle and says, "potty."

One of my favorite things he says now is every night dada makes him give him hugs before bed time and he alternates putting his head on dada's left and right shoulder. As he's switching from left to right Hudson says, "other" and switches. SO CUTE! Pops also got him to start saying "peekboo" so very precious. Love playing "peekboo" with bubba. My son is a flirt for sure. He looks at you with those big beautiful blue eyes and says, "hi." As if he's flirting with you. Melts my heart!

My favorite time is in the morning. I ask bubba to snuggle with me. He wraps his arms around my neck and lays there. Our hearts talk to each other and it's truly the best feeling in the world. I'm truly the luckiest person in the world.

*Bottom right photo is when gravity happens to a beautiful baby face. LOVE his lips!!! :)

Also this month we had some very exciting news. Hudson is going to be getting (hehe) a baby boy cousin come November 18th. Liam Arlen Biehle will be joining us. We're so very excited. I can't wait to see how sweet Hudson is to his new baby cousin. I know it's going to be love at first site!

Last but not least, Hudson is grandpa's side kick. He must know he has his middle name. :) Like two souls meant to be buddies 103 years a part in age. Grandpa is awesome and Hudson knows it!

Austin Museum

Felt impulsive today and packed bubba up this morning to go to the Children's Museum. So glad I did! Such a fun place for children of all ages. The babies can play, the toddlers can explore and the older children can learn so much. Not a bad price either for some inside cool air fun.

There's nothing more fun to me than seeing the wheels turn in Hudson's head. You can see it in his eyes when he's thinking really hard about something. This place gave me lots of opportunities for that.

Hudson's favorite part? Once again, flirting with the girls. Man he's a ladies man. He was reaching out to hold hands to have this little cute girl go down the slide with him. Smiling and being charming. He loved this thing they had with golf balls that I'm definitely going to recreate. I made one in high school for a science project. It has ramps and you watch the ball go down from each ramp to the next.

My favorite part? I've been thinking about finding Hudson some big blocks to play with but then I remember he likes to throw things (and I can't find the ones I'm looking for - need to go to Toys R Us). There was this little girl building stuff and he walked up to her. I took a deep breath because I thought for sure someone was going to get a block to the head. Nope, he picked up the blocks and started handing them to her. Teamwork skills at almost 18 months WHAT!?! Awesome!! My bubba is going to be an awesome big brother some day! I can't wait for Aunt Shelly to have Peanut. Hudson is going to love playing with his baby cousin. He's going to be a sweet big cousin. Sharing. Proud momma moment.

I definitely recommend the Austin's Children Museum. The only thing I will warn you about is the parking is hard to find. You have to park in a garage and walk. If you are lucky enough to find a meter to pay close by grab it. Otherwise take a stroller for a walk to the museum.

6 Years

Last Sunday 7/7, Karl and I celebrated 11 years of friendship and 6 years of marriage. We usually keep it chill on our anniversaries but this year I wanted to do something special :). We drove up to the hotel we got married at and ate dinner at the Papadeaux across the street where we had our rehearsal dinner.

Such a fun date. We hadn't been on a date in a long time either. I'm a lucky girl to have the life I have and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think it. Yes, I'm human, I have disturbances in my daily routine, but I know how lucky I am and how fortunate I am to have my best friend by my side and our little angel with us.

After we had dinner we walked over to the hotel and explored. It definitely felt sweet to be there. Like thinking about a good memory but doing it while in the actual place. Definitely is at the the top of the list for the best days of our lives.

What did Hudson do? Went to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time with mawmaw and pawpaw. Of course maw maw texted me when they left, when they got there, when they left and when they got home haha.

Best anniversary date yet. Next year will be 7 years on 7/7 :).

Sweetest Things Lately

1. Momma reads you a book every night called Spot Love His Mommy. Every time I get to the last page where "Mommy reads Spot a story and they snuggle up together" you turn and "squeeze" me and give me a kiss. You are amazing.

2. I rock and sing you to sleep for naps and sometimes bed time. And when you sit in a rocking chair the sweetest tunes come out of your mouth. Angel!

3. Sometimes mommy makes a humming noise when she's putting you to sleep. When you are half asleep you make the same noises back to me.

4. When you are super sleepy you give loooots of kisses.

5. You love when mommy buzzes in your ear when we read the duck book with the bees. You pull my face to your ear and make me do it over and over again.

6. Your daddy makes me feel pretty when I'm by his side and my best smile is when I'm looking at you.

Austin Zoo on the 4th of July

Nana and pops bought us tickets to go to the Austin Zoo. Luckily they were open on the 4th of July. We were all off of work so it worked out great!

The whole gang was able to go. Nana, pops, Hapa, Shelly (& peanut), Patrick and us three. So glad we all went.

The zoo has lots of great animals and rescued ones. Such a sweet zoo. Perfect for bubba to walk around and see lions, tigers, bears, turtles, birds and more. Hudson loved it and had a noise for each animal. He would roar and meow. And nana taught him to act like a monkey. So cute!

Bubba's favorite part? I'd say the snow cone and flirting with girls on the train ride haha. He really enjoyed feeding the goats until one got ahold of his whole hand. Poor bubba. He was forgiving though. Hudson even tried to even out the feeding between goats by switching to feed the others when one would try to hog all of the food.

The reptile house was one of his favorites too. He loved to watch the snakes move. Bubba was so cute. Meowing at the lions and tigers. Quacking at the geese. Baa-ing at the sheep. Squawking at the birds and flapping his hands. Perfect place for my sweet animal loving angel. The great thing is it is no more than 10 mins from our house. We will def be visiting Often. Thanks nana & pops!

Bubba was blowing kisses and waiving to the girls 3 seats behind us. Such a lady's man :)

Happy 4th!!
