Some Things

Some things I never want to forget…

I was making lunch the other day and Hudson was showing his toy puppy around he house the other day. He showed him his dino puzzle and said, "This is the puzzle, it doesn't talk. Not like how I talk. I talk talk talk."

We got Hudson a trampoline for his birthday and we've been playing on it every day it's not raining. The other day we were lying on it after running around for hours and he wraps his arm around my neck and starts playing with my left ear. It was so sweet. He saw the moon and told me he loved me to the moon and back. Then said he saw a cloud that looked like mommy and it was beautiful. My bubba tells me daily I'm beautiful. How did I get this lucky? If he thinks a no make up girl for days on end and sometimes doesn't get showers every day is beautiful then I'm the luckiest mommy ever (well I am anyway) :).

The other night I was putting Hudson to bed and he wrapped his arms around my neck and put his mouth on my forehead. He kept kissing my forehead over and over again. Biggest angel in the world.

We sing at bed time all the time and now he loves to sing "You are so beautiful." Just love to hear his little precious voice. Of course I record it :).

Hudson has been getting more and more excited about Grace. He tells me he wants to kiss her. He tickles my belly and tells me he's tickling her. The other day he kept trying to look down my shirt and I asked him, "bubba what in the world are you doing?" He then tells me, "I want to see Grace." So I pulled up my shirt to show him my belly. He then tried to tickle her through me haha. He does that a lot.

First morning Hudson had his kitchen set put together he got up and walked straight over to the coffee pot and made us both a cup of coffee. Such a gentleman!

Being a mommy…best thing in the world. I love kissing every big booboo, rocking my baby at night and holding him in my arms to kiss him once he's fallen asleep. These are the best years of my life.

A few more pictures :)

The best weekend ever last weekend we stayed home all weekend, had a BBQ and played played played.

The day Nana & Pops took Hudson to have a ton of fun while mommy worked. He had a blast as always. They did lots of fun thing but the highlight was not only seeing hapa but also Hudson eating all the bread they were supposed to be feeing the ducks (or birds as nana said hehe).

My Growing Belly, Grace and Hudson

"Best Birthday Ever" 3

My angel turned 3 back on 1/17 (yes…slacking again sorry it's been busy busy lately whew). We planned to have his birthday party at this Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek because they had life size statues of dinosaurs and my Dino Dan boy is all about that. Who would have ever thought that we would have been able to have a beautiful weekend to celebrate outdoors in January when we've been having all this rain and cold weather? It was our lucky weekend :). Hudson helped me pick out everything for his birthday. He said we had to wear party hats..and we did that.

On Hudson's actual birthday we planned a day all about Hudson. We had his party on Sunday so everyone could make it to an early birthday party. We first ate honey-dude (so cute when my bubba calls it that). He was in heaven. 2nd breakfast was his love of his life..donuts. Boy loves sprinkles :). We came back home to eat bacon for lunch (this is Karl's son) and to hang out with aunt KK, cousin Marky, uncle Chris & aunt Katrina. Followed by Hudson's first big train ride on the Austin Metro Rail. Daddy planned a trip for us to ride the train because a train ride was totally fun! We had so much fun with my bubba. I sure hope he felt special on his very special day.

Next day was his birthday party. We cut up bread in shapes of dinosaurs, dinosaur bubbles, dinosaur balloons, cake, candy, decorations, statues…what more could a dinosaur fan ask for? If I could give him the real thing I'd jump in my time machine right now to show him.

I keep saying, "Best Birthday Ever" because after opening half his presents in front of everyone bubba stops to say, "this is the best birthday ever." Um seriously, make our hearts melt. How did we get so lucky to have this sweet angel of ours? So unbelievably sweet, makes you want to give him the world if you could. We ate cake and then took the trail down the dino park. Everyone had a fun time participating in the scavenger hunt and seeing the large statues. It was pretty awesome. Most importantly Hudson was amazed and that makes my life.

It's A GIRL!

We found out this past Tuesday that our precious angel to come is a GIRL!!! When Karl and I started dating (like within the first weeks) we had a long conversation one night on the phone where we planned our wedding day and how many kids we would have. I of course said 5 and he said 2. He will probably win that battle but we then talked about having our boy first and then our little girl. It's so funny how life works. Hudson waited patiently and so well. The appointment was an hour long and then we had an immediate follow up with our doctor to discuss things. He did so good. I'm so proud of him! My awesome little almost 3 year old.

We're so very excited to be having our little princess Grace Alvena. I can't wait to meet her. She was so unbelievably beautiful. We asked Hudson what he thought she was right before we found out and he said girl. He's been saying all a long that he wants 1 boy and 1 girl. I'm putting two and two together and I'm thinking he wants to be the 1 boy and then we have 1 girl (Grace!) because he kept telling us, "I'm going to be the boy." Haha…we'll just make sense of it because it's so darn cute.

He saw the baby and said she's beautiful. My angel Hudson will treat his new baby sister like the most beautiful girl in the world. I seriously can't wait.

And Hudson got a donut so he was extra extra happy. He LOVES donuts.

Last weekend bubba got his birthday hair cut from maw maw :). Then he got to jump in muddy puddles. Hehe. Just love letting him do whatever puts a smile on his fast. Love this boy to the moon and back. I can't believe how lucky I am to have him and soon to have my angel Grace in my arms. Oh boy this is going to be so much fun!

I then got the best kisses and snuggles ever. Makes me the luckiest. Mommy. Ever.

I've been taking these belly pics without Hudson but I'm going to start including my bubba. Especially when he makes faces like these :) hehe. And I can now put a name on these :) hehehe :).

New Year New Adventures

Happy New Year (a tiny bit late on this one). For the first time ever Hudson loved the fireworks. It was wonderful. He sat on my lap and we watched all the fireworks go off around us. My parent's house in prime position on the land (the compound) where we can see fireworks from everyone around us. It's so awesome! Hudson said, "There's so many fireworks, I can't believe it!" and "It's AMAZING." Uncle Thomas threw little fireworks off the house and Hudson said, "He's magic!"It was so adorable. Mommy, daddy and bubba all got our new year's good luck kiss. We're looking forward to an amazing year.

Hudson and I got sick on New Years Day so we stayed home and tried to take it easy. Hudson doesn't slow down for anything…seriously..nothing. Daddy went hunting and because the weekend was beautiful mommy figured out how to make a sand pit at home. It was awesome! I got a nice clerk at home depot to load the sand on the cart and in the car. I didn't realize those bags were 50 lbs! And then I safely pulled them out of the car (up high) into a wheel barrel and went through our house onto the back porch and poured them into the baby pool. No lifting necessary ha! After that we had HOURS of fun in the sand. We felt more sick that first night from being outside I think but it was totally worth it. By we maybe I just felt worse but Hudson definitely had a great time and to me..that was worth anything. We even had to put socks on our hands so we could keep playing. I could have totally gone to get gloves as we really don't need them in Texas but this was a much faster solution LOL.

Hudson wrote his initials in the sand with me. I never know when he's supposed to know things so this totally amazed me. I think we'll be learning to write in the sand. It made it so much fun and no stress at all. He was excited to copy me. He even moved his skills to a chalk board. We're onto something :)

New Year's Resolutions? Not really…just a year of trying new things :). So, this was going to be a weekly email but so far…that's been impossible ha! So I will try to keep up on this idea I have for the new year. Every month (and hopefully every week) I'm going to try to get Hudson to try a new food. He's very picky. When he was almost 2 year sold and younger he would eat just about anything. Yep, including veggies. He LOVED cucumbers for the longest time and green beans…now if he sees green he immediately says he doesn't want it (totally his dad's son). One time pawpaw and I got him to eat broccoli by calling them baby trees but that doesn't work every time. Luckily right now he's a big carrot boy (with ranch of course).

Last week we tried spaghetti and funny enough he loves to eat plain noodles with absolutely nothing on them. No sauce, not butter, no salt, just plain noodles. It's probably because mommy showed him how fun it is to slurp them up but he ate them by the handful. Plain noodles that's it. Plus I thought if I had him help me cook he would be more interested…sure enough he tried it and liked it :). The next day we tried a veggie patty. He so didn't go for that at all. Not even one single tiny bite. All in all, last weekend was a success to me because he ate noodles and he never has before.

I just love my precious boy. I can't believe he's going to be 3 next weekend. He amazes me by the second and always has. I love every moment I have with this boy and I cherish them all. Slow down my little angel. You are growing way too fast!

A Sweet Baby Memory

Monday this week we had a busy day. Mommy worked a little in the morning. We took a break to run some errands and went to eat lunch at Hyde Park Grill. Their fries and chicken fried chicken are amazing. And so is all of their food. I felt this way before pregnancy too LOL. If you are ever in Austin I highly recommend :).

Side note:  Just love this precious boy! We had 1 warm sunny day on Friday last week (12/26) and we played outside for at least 3-4 hours. It was soooo beautiful and so is my angel :)

Then back home for a late nap for Hudson and little more work for mommy. I so wanted a nap that day but it wasn't in the cards that day LOL. This 2nd trimester has me more tired than the first. Isn't it supposed to be the reverse? Who knows LOL. Anyhow, I knew it would be a late night because we didn't wake up Hudson until 6 PM (big parenting no no lol). We played with toys and then when 9 PM rolled around I gave bubba a bath and we laid in my bed to watch Planes Fire & Rescue. Such a cute movie!

After a bit I kept feeling the baby kick. Just like on Christmas morning. It was a lot. I'm thinking it was the yummy lunch I had or something because it was non-stop. I called Karl down into our room to feel it and sure enough he did! It was such an awesome moment. Daddy was the first to feel baby #2 kick and it just feels so early for him to be able to feel it. It was exciting. Hudson watched daddy feel and then after daddy kissed the belly and talk to the baby Hudson joined in. It was so adorable and such a sweet moment to see Hudson joining in on the fun. My belly is getting bigger but it's not round yet so it's a little confusing I think to Hudson. I bet when "the ball" comes he will really start to understand it a little more.

Just a sweet moment definitely worth writing about. We find out what the baby is on 1/13. I CAN'T WAIT!!

I'm 17 weeks tomorrow so I'm a day early but here's a baby belly picture :)

Christmas 2014

We did a few more Christmas fun things before the big day got here. We went to the Buda trail of lights on opening night. To our surprise it was not packed and so much fun to walk around with the boys Hudson and Noah. These two…inseparable…love to play and sometimes play hard with each other. I have no doubt when these boys get bigger they will be playing football in the yard tackling each other, wrestling and just all things boys do.

We also found out about a snow day at the Hill Country Galleria. We hit that up one Saturday and when we first got there a boy started throwing snowballs at us. It made Hudson cry because it was definitely a shock. He hit us over and over until I finally told him it was enough..where were his parents?…who knows…don't get me start on parents who don't pay attention to their children…whew.

After making Hudson feel better we built a snow man and I let Hudson throw snowballs at me. He loved it but it was short lived as he is a true Austin boy…it was too cold haha.

We also surprised Nana on her birthday with some yummy Herbert's on the 17th. Took a ride with Mawmaw to look at Christmas lights one night. Hudson insisted on taking a picture with this beautiful house (Bottom left picture below) and that night we saw the biggest blow up snowman ever. It was at least 2 stories tall.

We also did the Austin Trail of Lights with Shee and Thomas. They had a big ferris wheel this year. Hudson thought that was the coolest thing. It was too fast for him to want to get on but it was fun to look at. We made our way through the lights and twirled under the tree as we've done every year. Austin is very packed and sometimes hard to see the lights from Hudson's height. I'm thinking maybe the tree alone is perfect for him.

We did our tradition Christmas Eve at aunt Brigette's house and let Hudson play the white elephant game this time. He loves to open presents so I knew he would want to play :). There was lots of gift stealing going on, advertisement for "please take this gift because you want it…" and twirling in the office chair to make Hudson dizzy. He's so much fun to watch. I love seeing his wonderful little character come out. Such a comedian…goofy boy. Full of fun times and laughter. He truly is the best. We then told Hudson we had to race home to beat Santa. He was in such a hurry to get home before Santa got there. It was so cute.

Karl and Hudson put cookies & milk out for Santa and it was so cute to see Hudson get excited about it. Christmas morning came and I woke Hudson up. I asked him, "Do you want to see if Santa came?" He tells me, "I really don't want to see Santa" in his little worrisome voice. I told him Santa wasn't here anymore but asked if he wanted to see if Santa came. We saw the cookies almost all eaten and a sip left in the glass of milk. The fireplace gate was wide open and presents were left. His little amazed face was awesome.

Remember that list for Santa with the main request? Well Santa did in fact leave that one special request. Hudson was smiling so big when he opened it. He loved all of his toys from Santa and the goodies in his stocking. In fact the next day he told me, "Santa brought me everything I wanted." I told him, "Well you must have been a really good boy huh?" and he said, "Yeah." Sweet angel!

We then drove down to MawMaw's & PawPaw's house for our huge family get together. Living room full of presents and family members. Breakfast, coffee and warmth from the heater and all of our excitement. Hudson and Noah were so excited and so cute! I'm thankful for all of my gifts but the best present is watching them open gifts. They have the most genuinely excited little faces.

Side note:  I had been feeling peanut in my belly from time to time before then but on Christmas morning I don't know if it was my newly tight on the belly maternity jeans, the yummy big breakfast or 1 cup of coffee but I felt the most kicks I had ever felt that morning. It was crazy how much the baby was kicking. So awesome. That morning I was 16 weeks :)

Afterwards we headed to Nana & Pops house to open presents and eat a yummy lunch with nana, pops, hapa, Liam, Shelly & Patrick. Hudson was SOOOOO adorable. Kissing his baby cousin over and over again. And every time Liam would turn with the biggest smile on his face. Hudson adores his baby cousin and I'm thinking the feelings are mutual. They chase each other around the house. Liam is so interested in what Hudson is doing all the time. They are so cute.

After a much needed nap we headed back to maw maw & pawpaw's house for a yummy dinner and more play time. It was a wonderful day with all of our family. All the sweetness and love. My honey bunny Hudson being the sweetest Christmas angel in the world. He hung the moon for mommy and daddy. We are forever grateful for this precious boy of ours. In less than a month he will be 3. Can't believe it!

December so far and a few funnies

I love sharing Hudson's funny quotes.

This morning he walks out of his room looking for me while I work on the couch. As we go back in his room to change him he walks over to his fan and says, "Mommy, I forgot to turn this off…I wasn't paying attention." He says this now "wasn't paying attention" because we went to Target and we almost ran into a lady with our cart and while we all were apologizing to each other I said, "Oh no it was me, I wasn't paying attention."

He's walking around with his Mikey mouse and hugs him. Then tells him, "I'll keep you forever."

He asks me to sing "Fly me to the moon" to him every night. It's the sweetest thing. When I sing hold my hand and baby kiss me he plays the part. He even sang it to his daddy the other night so he could kiss him. Such a sweetheart!!

My silly picky son loves to decorate but doesn't like sugar cookies. Just found that out this week. Silly picky boy!

He also loves to sweep. He always says, "I'm cleaning up all this mess." Yeah…our house stays pretty messy. Who has time to clean?

Every day Hudson takes two toys (could be 2 cars, 2 dinosaurs and even 2 hands) and starts pretending to talk to each other. First thing he always says is, "Hello friend." After talking and playing awhile he says, "I have to go friend. I have to go to my family." I don't know where he learned that from but love that he plays and goes home to his family.

From decorating our tree, maw maw & pawpaw's tree and decorating our house. We've been busy little elves.

Lately he's been walking around picking up everything and saying, "Look, I'm strooong." He is very strong. Almost stronger than his mom sometimes. He's going to be stronger than me in no time.

This boy LOVES to win. We're working on teaching him to be a gracious loser but we'll see. Boys are so competitive!

After Budafest last weekend we wrote our letter to Santa and this is why Hudson doesn't want to sit on Santa's lap.

Each year gets more and more fun. Hudson loved the Budafest parade and this year he got to ride some rides with cousin Noah and had a wonderful time. They were amazed at the sight of Santa even though Hudson didn't want to sit on his lap. Their sweet stunned faces when Santa drove by was priceless. He is a rock star to them. So fun! I love this time of year and making so many fun memories with my family and angel. He truly is the best.
