A little more catching up :)

April 28th Hudson received a new beautiful baby cousin to adore. Ella Josephine Lancaster was born while we all slept in our beds. I woke up to a wonderful text saying she was here. It was the best way to wake up. We flew over to the hospital after I got off work and we all immediately fell in love. Hudson was so adorable. Being so soft and sweet with her. He didn't want to let me hold her. He wasn't ready to give someone else a turn. He kissed her and held her hand. So in love…so sweet!

That weekend we celebrated maw maw's birthday (5/2) on 5/3 with some yummy dinner and a good time at maw maw and pawpaw's house.

Friday May 8th we took maw maw and aunt Brigette flowers for Mother's Day at the shop. When I then discovered that The Thinkery was only 10 minutes from the shop I packed up Hudson fast and took off. I've been wanting to take him here for months and I'm so glad I did.

Hudson has been building boobytraps in our house. He lines things up thinking that each thing is going to effect the next. It's so adorable to see his brain work. I knew The Thinkery would be awesome for him. We hadn't been to this new awesome location :)

This top left picture is my favorite of all time. Those are the wheels I love to see turning. So many things there to make him think, build and play. It's so pretty out there too. There's a lake, beautiful park, birds, ducks, geese, so much to do. I absolutely love getting to see my bubba learn and experiment. I love to see his mind blown. It blows mine.

Daddy painted Grace's room and put together our new glider/rocker. So glad we got her one. I can't wait to have all those heart to hearts I've had with Hudson in his chair. Even still do. I will never give that up. Best, sweetest memories of my life.

Mawmaw came in a put her magic decorating skills to work. My mom has more talent than I could ever dream of and she did not pass that to me. My sister stole it all. Hehe. I just love how perfect Grace's room is. I couldn't have imagined it. I absolutely love it and know she will too. Just perfect!

While we're in decorating mode we also got Hudson a few new decorations. Some dinosaur decals he absolutely loves. He's so excited to show you Grace's room when you come over and his too.

More Catching Up…

More catching up means photo collages and fun memories in a flash.

Hudson LOVES to help me make things. We made cookies for Ella's surprise baby sprinkle for nanny. He made most of he cookies for me. I was totally surprised he didn't want to eat them all like mommy did.

I'm adding a few other photos of my bubba just being adorable. Love his smile and I love putting it on his face. I will do just about anything to get this boy to smile because he makes my heart smile every second of every day.

We've been hitting up the pool since late March. Anything to get out and soak in some warm sun and have fun in the water. Even went to our favorite date spot. The Liz Carpenter fountain. I just love taking Hudson there. You can have a picnic. Stroll up and down the hill (or race down it like Hudson likes to do and scare me). Splash in the water, feed the turtles, so much in this one spot smack in the middle of Austin. It's a true treasure.

We even made daddy's birthday cake together. Daddy's birthday fell on Easter this year (April 5th) so there was some cake making and egg decorating fun. Bubba loved help keeping it a secret from daddy. He kept telling daddy, "Don't go in the kitchen!" My precious little helper.

We celebrated some other birthdays as well. Cousin Noah turned 5 on April 1st. Hudson would say, "Noah is 5! Can you believe it!?!" And we celebrated Hapa's 106th birthday on 4/18! After a week of rained it turned out to be a nice day for hapa's birthday :).

On April 11th pawpaw scored us some free MotoGP tickets. Hudson and I raced over (not really) to the race and let me tell you..my son was quiet the ladies man. He got to take his picture with the Ducati girls and he wasn't bashful at all. We stayed for at least 3 hours and sure enough my bubba had a great time.

Fishing March 13th 2015

I'm so behind it's not even funny. Can I blame it on baby brain? I use that excuse a lot these days.

We took Hudson fishing one last time before I knew I would be cut off from traveling. I had been looking since January for a somewhat warm weekend and sure enough one came up. My dad and I drove down Thursday night with Hudson. He did so good until he realized we weren't going to be going home. He kept saying, "I want to go to sleep in my bed." We then kept telling him that we were going home and that bought us a few hours. Sure enough..he fell asleep right before we got there.

The next morning he woke up and had the biggest smile on his face. He loves the coast as much as we all do.

I knew this would be the last trip to the coast even though I had planned 4 more after it. I just felt like maybe this was it before we reached the point where I shouldn't travel anymore. We'll go back with Grace for sure. I hope I can get her hooked too :)

Friday we fished with pawpaw on the pier all morning. My precious bubba waited patiently for a fish in his ever so cute fishing hat (we borrowed from uncle Chris). We even held hands while we wait. Holding onto these sweet memories as long as I can.

We did our usual feeding the pelicans with the little perch we caught. Every time we pulled a perch out of the water Hudson would say, "That's the biggest fish I've ever seen!" Ever time. It was so adorable.

We also hit up the beach. Another favorite of mine. It was too cold to go for a swim but that didn't keep us from taking our shoes off to walk in and find shells. My precious little adventurer. Always willing to experience something new with me. I could do whatever Hudson wants to do every second of my life if I could. Nothing makes me happier than fulfilling some idea he has.

Friday night daddy got there and we all went fishing the next day. We could hang out at the fishing center the whole time. Most times Hudson and I do. We go to the beach too but we don't get on the boat with daddy and pawpaw yet. One day we will but for now this is exactly where we want to be.

Weeks 22-35 & Words of Hudson Wisdom

As I said a few blogs ago…I'm slacking. Here's Grace growing weeks 22-35 :) and a few fun things my sweet Hudson tells me :)

Mr. Fixer:  "Mommy, let me look under your chair. I'm good at fixing things. (He looks and messes with the screws) You are good to go mommy."

Sweet Tooth:  "Listen to me mommy. You need to get me a lollipop please."

Best big brother ever:  "I'm going to rock Grace. She's going to love me."
He looks down at her from time to time and says, "Oh hi Grace. I love you." My favorite is when he takes his little hands and puts one on top of my belly and one below and says, "Grace is this big."

We went shopping for Grace and I forgot how the conversation started but he tells me, "I've been waiting for Grace for 100 years."

Melts my heart:  "Mommy, hold me like a prince for bed" as I whisk him away like a princess :).

Future Poet: We were riding home from pawpaw's birthday dinner and Hudson starts to sing  "Peppa peppa in my home. Pepa Peppa on pawpaw's phone" and "North Star North Star can you get in the car. Can I hold you in my arm."

Kisses:  When we get sick it takes every part of us to not give him kisses on his mouth. He would ask me every day, "Mommy, are you feeling better?" then he would pull up my shirt over my mouth to kiss me.

Angel Boy:  we'll be sitting on the couch and he puts his hand on my cheek and gives me a sweet smile. Then tells me, "I love you mommy. I love your pretty eyes."

Cutest Backseat Driver:  "Mommy to get home you go around the world..take a left and then you are there."

I love this precious boy and sweet angel Grace growing in my belly so much. I can't believe how lucky I am to call myself their mommy.

I'm 36 weeks today but I'll post that one next time :)
